Shopizen Bangla is proud to be associated with the launching of two novels written by Mr Koushik Das. The books are Shaktirupeno (শক্তিরূপেণ) and Devil’s Lair (English version of the Bengali novel শয়তানের মা, translated by Mr. Arindam Basu).

The books, published by Shopizen Bangla, were launched at the Kolkata Press Club on 9th April, 2024 in the presence of former Ranji champion Bengal captain, Mr Sambaran Banerjee, Ex-Sports Editor of Anandabazar Patrika and eminent writer Mr Rupak Saha and Anti-Trafficking activist Ms Pallabi Ghosh.

Sambaran, who was also a national selector, recounted the dark saga of match-fixing during the early 2000 and how the Indian team foughtback against the dreaded evil.

Pallabi is a crusader who has been fighting a war against human trafficking for the last 20 years. Pallabi and her organisation Impact and Dialogue Foundation is fighting a very tough battle.

“As someone who has rescued human trafficking survivors, I know many of these survivors also suffer from collateral skin injuries like burn marks, cuts, and bruises. আজ ‘কোলকাতা প্রেস ক্লাব’-এ সংবাদমাধ্যমের সাথে কথা বলতে গিয়ে সংস্থার অধ্যক্ষ শম্ভুনাথ গাঙ্গুলী স্পষ্ট করে জানান, “হিন্দু মহাসভা-কে কলঙ্কিত করার জন্য কিছু অনথীবদ্ধ ভুঁইফোঁড় রাজনৈতিক সংস্থা হিন্দু মহাসভার নাম করে ভোট ভিক্ষা করতে নেমে পড়েছে। আমাদের সাথে ওই সব সংস্থার কোনোরকম সম্পর্ক নেই।”

১৮তম লোকসভা নির্বাচনে আপাতত চারটি আসনে প্রার্থী দিতে চলেছে এই রাজনৈতিক দল। আজ কলকাতায় সাংবাদিক সম্মেলনে এ কথায় জানালেন পার্টির পশ্চিমবঙ্গের প্রধান সাধারণ সম্পাদক রাজ কুমার মিশ্র। আপাতত ব্যারাকপুর লোকসভা কেন্দ্র ও বরাহনগর বিধানসভা র উপ নির্বাচনে প্রার্থী হচ্ছেন বুলা অধিকারী এমনটাই জানালেন প্রার্থীর শীর্ষ নেতৃত্ব। এদিনের সাংবাদিক সম্মেলনে উপস্থিত ছিলেন সাধারণ সম্পাদক কৃষ্ণেন্দুবিশ্বাস(রাজা),ব্যারাকপুরের প্রার্থী বুলা অধিকারী,আদিবাসী কুড়মি সমাজের পশ্চিমবঙ্গের সভাপতি যুধিষ্ঠির মাহাতো, পুরুলিয়া জেলা কমিটি সদস্য ভদ্রদুলাল মাহাতো ও মহাদেব মাহাতো সহ অন্যান্যরা। এদিনের সাংবাদিক সম্মেলনের প্রধান আকর্ষণ ছিল আদিবাসী কুড়মি সমাজের সমর্থন ও পূর্ণ সহযোগিতা।

কোলকাতা (২৩ মার্চ ‘২৪):- উৎসাহ উদ্দীপনার মধ্য দিয়ে হোলির প্রাক্কালে আজ হাওড়া রেলওয়ে স্টেশন সংলগ্ন মুখরাম কানোরিয়া রোডের ‘শ্রী শ্রী ঈশ্বর সত্যনারায়ণজী ও অন্যান্য দেবদেবী’-র মন্দির থেকে এক ধর্মীয় শোভাযাত্রা বেরিয়ে কোলকাতার সত্যানন্দ পার্কের কাছে এসে শেষ হয়।

শোভাযাত্রাকে কেন্দ্র করে বেলা ১২ টার পর থেকে বেশ কিছুক্ষণ সময় রবীন্দ্র সেতুর উপর ভক্ত সমাগমের ভীড় পরিলিক্ষত হয়। শোভাযাত্রা চলাকালীন ভক্তবৃন্দগণ বিভিন্ন রঙের আবীর খেলতে থাকে।
বলে রাখা ভালো, গত ১৯ মার্চ থেকে উৎসব উপলক্ষ্যে ভক্তগণের মধ্যে প্রসাদ বিতরণ করা হয়।

মন্দির কর্তৃপক্ষের তরফ থেকে ললিতকুমার বাঘেলা জানিয়েছেন, “১৮৮৪ সালে এই মন্দির স্থাপনা হয়েছিল। পশ্চিমবঙ্গের এই মন্দিরের পাশাপাশি ভারতের অন্যান্য প্রদেশেও আমাদের জনহিতকর কর্মকাণ্ড চলে আসছে।”
