PM Modi gives out 71,000 appointment letters in one go to people across country: Unemployment rate drops 1.1% in January

NEWS HUNGAMA Kolkata, January 23, 2023, News Hungama PM Rozgar Mela, a scheme that was launched in October 2022 with the aim to fill up 10 lakh+ job vacancies in government agencies has till date distributed 2,17,000 appointment letters as PM Modi distributed 71,000 jobs to aspirants on January 20 in this year's first session. The new recruits, selected from across the country, will join various positions/posts under the Government of India such as Junior Engineers, Loco Pilots, Technicians, Inspector, Sub Inspectors, Constable, Stenographers, Junior Accountant, Grameen Dak Sevak, Income Tax Inspector, Teacher, Nurse, Doctor, Social Security Officer, PA, MTS among others. The Rozgar Mela is a step towards the fulfilment of the commitment of the Prime Minister to accord the highest priority to employment generation, the PMO said in a release. The Rozgar Mela is expected to act as a catalyst in further employment generation and provide meaningful opportunities to the youth for their empowerment and participation in national development, the PMO added. The PM underscored his government's efforts to create jobs in the last eight years amid the opposition`s constant criticism on the issue of unemployment. In his address after more than 75,000 people were given appointment letters for various government jobs in the first tranche, PM Modi acknowledged the challenges facing the economy the world over with many countries hit by record inflation and unemployment, and said India is making every effort to come out of the situation unscathed. The experience of newly inducted officials learning from the 'Karmayogi Prarambh' module will also be shared during the programme. The module is an online orientation course for all new appointees in various government departments, it said. Meanwhile, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said alleged 71,000 appointment letters were not sufficient.
