The streets of Bengaluru are filled with pink flowers as the cherry blossom season is here. An exotic neotropical species called Tabibuea Rosea flowers can be witnessed in all their glory in between the months of January and March. As its the season of their growth, one can witness the beauty of it while walking around the streets of Bengaluru.
Beautiful pictures of the tall trees decorated with Pink blossoms have also been posted on the official Twitter account of the Karnataka Tourism Department. These images which are from AECS Layout, Whitefield.
The department in the post’s caption informed, “The Pink Trumpets or the Tabebuia Avellaneda have started to blossom here in Bengaluru. That time of the year when certain parts of Bengaluru turns completely pink.”
Notably, these Tabebuia trees were originally planted in the city by the Britishers. It is said that they introduced Banglore to the pink trumpet trees to satiate their homesickness as the pink blossoms reminded them of their springtime back home. Though after gaining independence, Britishers were made to leave the country, the beauty of the trees planted in different parts of Bangalore continues to charm people even now.
With thousands of likes, a barrage of citizens have expressed being blown away by witnessing nature’s beauty at its best.
