Class, Non-Majors, & Majors
Class piano is designed to train beginning piano students with no previous piano background. This class is held in our Piano Lab using electronic keyboards and headphones. Emphasis is placed on reading music, developing technique, and performing piano repertoire.
Piano for Non-Keyboard Majors is individual piano instruction emphasizing keyboard skills and musicianship through appropriate repertoire, technique, and sight reading.
Piano Majors participate in individual piano instruction emphasizing development in piano performance with appropriate technique and repertoire.
Students who wish to major in piano or take piano lessons should contact the music department to schedule an audition appointment. Please keep in mind that instructors may not be available for summer appointments. Please call when scheduling appointments outside the regular fall and spring semesters.
