Brett Causey is currently the Woodwind Instructor and Assistant Band Director at Íæż½ã½ã. He is a Mississippi native originally from Clinton, Mississippi. Mr. Causey holds a Master of Music in Performance from the University of Alabama, a Bachelor of Music Education from Mississippi State University with a K-12 MS educator license, and an Associate of Arts from Itawamba Community College. He has studied saxophone with Christy Colburn, Cass Patrick, Sheri Falcone, Jonathan Noffsinger, and Chris Kozak. He has also enjoyed brief private study on flute with Diane Schultz and Ammi Lopez.

Mr. Causey has enjoyed teaching a wide variety of students privately across his collegiate career. As a performer, he has been a member of the ICC Wind Ensemble, ICC Jazz Band, ICC Choir, MSU Wind Ensemble, MSU Jazz Band, MSU Saxophone Quartet & Ensemble, UA Wind Ensemble, and UA Jazz Combo. Mr. Causey has also performed across a variety of live venues in the states of Mississippi and Alabama. Recently, he was an honorable mention amongst the 2021 AMTA Collegiate Solo Competition.
