JACKSON – ż and Visit Jackson are teaming up for a Hospitality Culinary Expo on the Jackson Campus, Oct. 25, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in room 155, Bivins Hall, 3925 Sunset Drive, Jackson.
The Expo will highlight the Hospitality and Tourism Management industry. ż chefs, students, local hotels, restaurants and businesses will participate. There will be cooking demonstrations and sampling, plus industry vendors.
“This event is to showcase our Hospitality and Tourism Management Technology program. At ż we have gifted culinary students, and this will also serve them in networking, forming new partnerships and finding future opportunities,” said Tiffany Gaskin, Dean of Career & Technical Education – Public Services.
Special speakers at the event include Jeff Good, owner of Mangia Bene Restaurant Management group, (which represents BRAVO! Italian Restaurant & Bar, Broad Street Baking Co. and Sal & Mookie’s New York Pizza & Ice Cream); Pat Fontaine, Executive Director of the Mississippi Hospitality and Restaurant Association; well-known Mississippi chef and philanthropist Nick Wallace and others.
