حوإ¼½م½م’s office of student services is coordinating preventative educational programs throughout the college’s district in recognition of April as Sexual Assault/Abuse Awareness Month.

حوإ¼½م½م will host Denim and Maroon Day on Thursday, April 10. The Raymond Campus’ program will be held that day at 2 p.m. in room 165 of Reeves Hall.

Other campuses will have programs as follows:

April 10, 11 a.m. – Rankin

April 23, 12 p.m. – Jackson Campus-Nursing/Allied Health Center

TBA – Jackson Campus-Academic/Technical Center

The college is working in a collaborative effort with حوإ¼½م½م County Sherriff Department, Victim Assistance Coordinator Kewanna Ward, and in conjunction with several other organizations.

“It is vital to educate and enrich our campus communities with preventive programs and resources,â€‌ said Sharon Alexander, district coordinator of student conduct and development at حوإ¼½م½م. “Even though, some employees and students may not have dealt with sexual assault or abuse personally, it is of the utmost importance to have knowledge and resources available.â€‌
