What equivalency diplomas do you accept?

We accept the following High School Equivalency (HSE) diplomas:

  • ³ز·،¶ظآ®
  • HiSET
  • TASC
  • Mississippi Competency-Based Diploma (an alternate HSE embedded with both academic standards and industry-recognized credentials for students enrolled in an Integrated Education and Training Pathway at one of the Mississippi Community Colleges.)

If you have one of these four HSE diplomas and this will be your first time in college after completing your HSE, then apply to حوإ¼½م½م with the “High School Equivalency Diploma Holderâ€‌ Applicant Type.

If you received a diploma from an online school, you should contact the Office of Admissions to provide the details on your school, and we will you know if your diploma is accepted for admission. If it is accepted and this will be your first time in college, you should apply to حوإ¼½م½م with “First-Time College Studentâ€‌ as your Applicant Type.

How do I apply?
  1. Create an and submit an application for General Admission. You will only be permitted to apply once per semester.
  2. After you apply, log back into the applicant portal to view your admission status and action items. As you submit admission documents, monitor the receipt of them in your applicant portal!
What are the admission requirements?

An HSE Diploma Holder must meet the following general admission requirements:

  • Submit a final, official equivalency diploma transcript (not a copy of the diploma) showing all passing scores for either the GED, HiSET, or TASC, or submit the Mississippi Competency-Based Diploma. Please use and request your official transcript be sent directly to Records@hindscc.edu.
  • Submit official ACT or SAT scores or take the Accuplacer at حوإ¼½م½م.
Is there an admissions deadline?

Yes, all admission documents must be submitted by the following deadlines:

  • Fall semester: July 15
  • Spring semester: December 15
  • Summer semester: May 15

It is possible to register for classes during Early Registration (before the Admission Document Deadline), but all documents are due by the published deadline or you may be at risk of losing your class schedule.

To register during Late Registration (after the Admission Document Deadline), all admission documents must already be submitted and processed by the Office of Admissions.

How do I submit official transcripts?

To complete your admission, the transcripts you submit to حوإ¼½م½م must be “officialâ€‌. Official transcripts are those that are sent directly from your school to حوإ¼½م½م in an approved method. Emailed and faxed transcripts, even if sent from your school, are not accepted.

حوإ¼½م½م accepts official transcripts in these ways:

  • Electronically: This method is preferred. Equivalency diplomas may be sent electronically from directly to حوإ¼½م½م using this email address: Records@hindscc.edu. Do not send it yourself and then forward it to حوإ¼½م½م.
  • By Mail: You may request an official, sealed transcript to be mailed to this address: حوإ¼½م½م, Office of Admissions, PO Box 1100, Raymond, MS 39154. Do not mail a transcript that has already been opened from its original sealed envelope.

Submitting official test scores:

  • If you have taken the ACT or SAT, we accept electronic score reports sent to us directly from the National ACT or College Board.
  • We also accept ACT and SAT scores if they are documented on an official high school transcript (from a former high school you attended before completing your HSE diploma.)
  • We do not accept copies of scores that you or your school email.
  • Most HSE Diploma Holders take the Accuplacer for free at حوإ¼½م½م as their college entrance test.

How do I know if I am accepted?
  • All students who meet the minimum general admission requirements are accepted to حوإ¼½م½م!
  • After the Office of Admissions accepts your application, you will receive an Acceptance Email containing your حوإ¼½م½م ID and My.حوإ¼½م½م/Navigator login instructions.
  • You should also check your regularly to monitor the receipt of your admission requirements.
How do I register for classes?

Registering for classes is a part of the enrollment process in which admitted students meet with an Advisor to discuss their program of study and career plans and make their class schedule.
When registration opens for the semester in which you plan to enroll, eligible students should initiate advisement and registration in one of these ways:

  1. Visit any حوإ¼½م½م campus during business hours. No appointment is necessary!
  2. Request Remote Advisement. If you submit a remote advisement request, an Advisor will reach out to you several business days later via your حوإ¼½م½م email account. So, check it regularly!

You will not be able to register yourself in your Navigator account until you have been advised.
