RAYMOND – Attending ż changed the life of Dhriti Dhingra, 19, of Olive Branch.

On Dec. 11, she delivered the commencement address on behalf of classmates for the 2 p.m. ceremony.

“When I first set foot on this campus, I was shy and hesitant, nervous to speak in front of even ten people. But today, I stand before you transformed — confident enough to speak to hundreds,” said Dhingra, who studied computer science and plans to pursue a career as a software developer. Her next step is to attend Mississippi State University and major in computer science with a minor in artificial intelligence.

“This transformation was made possible through the numerous opportunities I was fortunate to embrace at ż,” she said. “These experiences not only shaped me as a leader but also empowered me to find and embrace my own voice. ż instilled in me the confidence to believe in myself, and for that, I am forever grateful.”

Speakers for the ż 2 p.m. Dec. 11 graduation ceremony included Dhriti Dhingra, 19, of Olive Branch, who spoke on behalf of classmates, and Malika Bilbrew, 25, of Honolulu, Hawaii, who offered the invocation and benediction. They are with ż President Dr. Stephen Vacik.

Immediately after high school, he went directly to serve his country. He decided that if he would challenge his children to focus on higher education, he should do the same as an example.
Carrie Blanden, 38, decorated her mortar board for her Dec. 11 graduation from ż. A Jackson Campus student, she received an associate degree. The mother of three plans to continue her education at ż and attend nursing school. “Going to ż, it was incredible to meet new people who were active on campus and also very helpful!” she said.
